HI-STANDARD was known for their upbeat melodic numbers from the beginning, but this EP, a cover of the EAGLES' "California Dreamin'," was their first foray into melancholic speed numbers. The method of covering standard mid-tempo songs with a high-speed tempo was a technique that major melodic hardcore bands were launching in various forms at the time. Personally, I think the name "HI-STANDARD" may have come from that. As this is over 25 years old, there will inevitably be some dirt, scratches, and age-related deterioration.
