A cup and saucer from Gefle, a Swedish porcelain manufacturer. Gefle was founded in 1910 and continued production until 1979, even after being acquired by Upsala Ekeby. Due to its rarity, it is now highly sought after. This "Mantilj" series was inspired by the mantilla, a lace scarf worn by women in Spain and Latin America to cover their heads and shoulders in church. It's like a bride's veil. The design, with small red, yellow, and green flowers arranged regularly, has a stained-glass-like retro cuteness, but the brown saucer tightens the overall look. This is a large teacup size, recommended for when you want a generous serving. It's a rare item, with fewer in circulation than coffee cups. Please refer to the last photo for a size comparison. ●Gefle Mantilj ③ Cup: 9.6cm diameter, 5.8cm height Saucer: 15.5cm diameter There are no noticeable chips or cracks, but there is a slight indentation on the handle and some paint unevenness. Both appear to have occurred during manufacturing, as they are covered with glaze. The saucer is in excellent condition with almost no cutlery marks. Also, the stamps on Gefle saucers often disappear, but this one is beautifully preserved. Please check the photos for details.
