These were commercialized as souvenirs and sold at PXs (Post Exchanges, the common name for the stores inside US military bases) throughout the country. At the time, the company that supplied these souvenir jackets and other clothing to the US military bases was Kosho Shokai, the predecessor of Tailor Toyo (Toyo Enterprises). In the 1950s, when the production of souvenir jackets was at its peak, they held a 95 percent share of the supply.
