[7] Condition: New, beautiful condition [8] Shape: Komachi-ken (labor-intensive) ◉ This is a new, unused work by the master craftsman Yuiseki Shimoi of Akama Suzuri. The Akama Suzuri, with its unique reddish hue, is said to be the only one of its kind in Japan. It is characterized by its fine, hard, and dense stone quality, and its beautiful stone surface. The craftsman was honored with an exhibition by the then Emperor and Empress in 1996, and his work was purchased by the Imperial Household Agency. Small, pale green stars can be seen scattered across the adzuki bean-colored base, resembling the sea and hills. Furthermore, green-blue colors are also visible on the underside of the inkstone, immediately below the characters for Akama Suzuri and 2cm below, and also 4cm to the right, in round and rectangular shapes, making it unique. The characteristic crimson color of Akama stone is very beautiful. The rim and sides of the inkstone are meticulously finished to a smooth, flat surface. The sharpness of the rim on the hill side is such that it can cut the fingertip when touched, clearly demonstrating the skill of the inkstone maker. The underside of the inkstone is deeply engraved with magnificent characters, showing the high level of skill and confidence of the craftsman. Because of its beautiful and unique shape, this inkstone is a work that is both pleasing to use and to look at, and is favored by women.
