Deba knife, blade length 15.3cm, 211g. The spine is about 4.4mm thick near the top of the heel. It's engraved with "Sakai Takumi Saku," which seems to be an older brand. I can only find it in the used market. They come in fairly often, but most are not kasumi (laminated) but all-steel. This item is also all-steel, and the material, which shines brightly when polished, is definitely SK steel. This is a very hard carbon steel, used as a tool material, also known as Steel Kougu steel. Be careful of rust. Blade oil is essential. While the rust marks are mostly removed, there are still faint marks and small scratches if you look closely, so please check the photos carefully. The handle has been replaced with a new one and should last for a while. It has been thoroughly sharpened, the blade has been honed, and it has been polished.
