◇ About the Makers ◇ We sell handmade shinobue flutes crafted by a father and daughter team in Shimane Prefecture, with the father having approximately 25 years of experience as a shinobue instructor and flute maker. We make shinobue and kagura flutes from female bamboo (shinozake) harvested from the Shizumagawa River (formerly the Ginzangawa River), dried for over 3 years. ◇ Shipping Method ◇ We will ship via Yu-Pack (Yu-Yu Mercari Bin) within 1-2 days of purchase. Please leave a comment if you need it urgently. ◇ Description ◇ A 6-hon-choshi flute is two semitones lower than an 8-hon-choshi flute, resulting in a vocal range closer to the human voice. Even songs with a # at the beginning of the score can be played smoothly by transposing them to C major, without using many semitones. ◇ Tuning ◇ Tuned to the Western musical scale of 440Hz, using a tuner to match the upper register (second octave), allowing for ensemble playing and performance with other instruments. Tuned to allow for the notes of Ro (first octave), Ko (second octave), and Daiko (third octave) to be played with varying breath strength, up to the fourth. As these are made from natural bamboo, each flute has its own unique characteristics. Those accustomed to other flute makers' flutes may take some time to master the Daiko notes 3 and 4 on these flutes.
