This is a cache-coeur dress made from a black tomesode (formal kimono) with a flowing, thin fabric, featuring generous tucks in the front and back. The sleeves are three-quarter length with slits. It has one family crest on the shoulder. There are no pockets or lining. ⭐︎ The front overlap doesn't sit quite right and tends to open. Please wear with an inner layer, pin it closed, or adjust it to fit your body. ⭐︎ The glittering gold accents on the pattern were removed because the fabric would shrink when washed. Some fine red threads from the removal remain (see photos 10 and 11). ⭐︎ There is a large stain on the pattern (see photos 12 and 13; there may be other overlooked imperfections). ⭐︎ The shoulder crest bled slightly when washed (see photo 14). There may be signs of the kimono's history, such as stains, fading, discoloration, pinholes, mold, fold lines, and odors. There may also be chalk lines from the making process, uneven stitching, and other imperfections. In addition, areas with damage have been repaired with backing fabric.
