Thank you for looking! ☆ I made an Azuma bag with a gusseted bottom, a medicine notebook case, and a pocket tissue case using striped cotton from old fabric. Finished with both machine and hand sewing. ^^ For the Azuma bag and tissue case, I used indigo-dyed patterned scraps and stitched them with sashiko. For the floral pattern of the indigo-dyed fabric on the Azuma bag, I meticulously stitched the entire flower area to give it a three-dimensional effect. I used different colored sashiko threads for the bag opening, gusseted bottom, and patch areas. The highlight is the gusseted bottom!! Meticulously stitched with red sashiko thread. I intentionally left the triangular parts exposed to make it a visible gusseted bottom. Also, for repairs of holes and thin areas of the fabric, I intentionally applied patch fabric with a kasuri pattern on the outside and stitched it. I personally use an Azuma bag every day, but my problem with regular Azuma bags is that the middle part is low and the contents are easily visible. After repeated improvements, I created an Azuma bag with a gusseted bottom and a higher middle section! Therefore, the construction method differs from a regular Azuma bag.
