This is a vase from Fukagawa-yaki. It was displayed in the tokonoma (alcove) at my parents' home. Size: Approximately 11cm in diameter (mouth) x 21cm in height x 20cm in width (body) *Measurements are approximate. This is a gorgeous vase with auspicious patterns from Fukagawa Seiji. The design is a Kakiemon-style depiction of plum blossoms on a rock, with the addition of pine and bamboo, creating a Shochiku-bai (pine, bamboo, and plum) auspicious pattern. The brilliant white color is complemented by gold and red accents, making it a very glamorous and lucky vase. The balance of the branches and negative space is beautiful even when viewed from the side.
