This is a Wajima-nuri jubako (tiered food box). It's a high-quality piece with a transparent, refined inner vermilion and black lacquer, adorned with elegant round floral makie (sprinkled picture) designs. The floral makie applied across the entire surface is of very high quality, utilizing the togidashi (burnishing) technique with gold, silver, and nashiji (pear skin) lacquer. It's generally in good condition, with only slight storage scratches on the underside. Image 19 shows a sticker residue that should come off easily with a gentle rub of an eraser.
