It has a high quality ink color, a powerful jet-black for dark ink, and a soft, black-red-brown hue for light ink. Moreover, it produces beautiful gradations. It's so good that the term "ultra-premium" doesn't quite capture it. Excellent for kana and kanji works, and I think it can produce ink colors of unprecedented high quality even in ink wash painting.
