Domestic CD: Chie Ayado - Love Released in April 2000, making it 26 years old, this album is a continuous display of amazing vocals, both then and now. The songs are eloquent yet delicate. The exquisite piano fills the silence after the "soulful cries." It transcends the jazz genre, leaving you overwhelmed by the authenticity that only a true artist can possess. The liner notes, with Ayado's usual masterful storytelling, are as amusing as her stage performances. Tomomi Muramatsu's essay, "In a Daze," a tribute to Ayado, was warm and excellent. I especially love the 8th track, "Sad Jet Plane." It's a song about parting with a beloved lover and taking off on a jet plane. Ayado's heartfelt vocals bring even more emotion than the original. I highly recommend Ayado's unique rendition, which has a completely different feel from the original. From the upbeat "Donna Tokimo" (Anytime), you can almost hear her saying, "Life isn't so bad after all." Listeners are sure to gain energy to live. Her rendition of "My Funny Valentine" is more like a blues singer with rich expressiveness than a jazz singer. It's a song where Ayado's true essence, having tasted the bitterness of life, overcome it, and lived strongly, explodes. Like the other tracks, Ayado is the best when singing slow ballads. The nostalgic and melancholic atmosphere of "Danny Boy" is irresistible. All the songs are standard numbers, and both pop and jazz are completely colored with Ayado's style. The songs you know the originals of have surprising developments, and the enjoyment of listening to how she sings each one is irresistible. There are no problems with music playback.
