Heavy storage batteries (around 7kg?) are a burden, and lithium batteries are expensive consumables, while small ones have the worry of running out of power... The capacity of this battery (5000mAh) is perfectly adequate for fishing, and its size and weight (1.83kg) don't add to the load. I've been using it for three years, and I can fish on a boat for 6 hours (for things like hairtail), using 80-gou sinkers at a depth of about 80m, frequently reeling up and down, and it lasts without any problems. I also use it to power my fish finder and an air pump to inflate my rubber boat. The charger is low-powered, but charging it the day before a fishing trip is sufficient, and it puts less stress on the battery than rapid charging. For all batteries, the key to longevity is to be careful about high temperatures and over-discharge. 1: Do not expose to direct sunlight. 2: After fishing, wash off the salt and charge.
