This is Patagonia's Linked Pack 28L, a climbing backpack. The material is a durable Cordura Ballistic Nylon, which is resistant to punctures and abrasion, with a 200-denier polyester lining. Both materials are coated with polyurethane and treated with a DWR (durable water repellent) finish. The hip belt is removable, so I think it can be used for both town use and light mountain climbing. Inside, there is a sleeve for a hydration reservoir and a zippered pocket for small items.
