(＠＾＾＠) This is a road movie chronicling the 25 years of a lighthouse keeper couple, covering 15 locations across Japan, from Cape Nosappu in Hokkaido in the north to Mejima in the Goto Islands in the south. The theme song of the same name was a big hit and is still sung as a nostalgic melody today. In 1932, when the Shanghai Incident broke out, a newlywed couple was assigned to Kannon-zaki Lighthouse. The following year, when Japan withdrew from the League of Nations, they were transferred to Ishikari Lighthouse in Hokkaido, where their eldest daughter and son were born. In 1937, they were transferred to Mejima. The story is a moving drama with the "turbulent Showa era" as a sub-axis, as they move to Sado's Danzaki Lighthouse the year before the start of the Pacific War.
