■ Sound Quality as Close as Possible to the Natural Sound CogyGust, which inherits the highly-resolving circuit configuration that has made Dual HA epas famous, achieves sound quality that is as close as possible to the natural sound. Generally, built-in or add-on pickups and preamps for ukuleles tend to produce a boomy, exaggerated sound. Because of this, some people dislike the sound of pickups and prefer to perform live using a microphone, but this has its own problems, such as feedback and the inability to move freely. CogyGust solves these problems. ■ Easy-to-Use EQ The two EQs, named BOX and CONTAUR, adjust the sound quality while faithfully reproducing the natural sound of the ukulele. BOX adjusts the "box resonance" feeling. On low-G ukuleles, it mainly affects the 4th string, behaving as if emphasizing the bass notes. On high-G ukuleles, you may feel that it doesn't affect all four strings, but it controls the "box resonance" feeling. General preamps control the low frequencies more broadly to give the feeling that "the EQ is working," but by intentionally setting this part narrowly, they have succeeded in "controlling only the essential and desirable parts." CONTAUR adjusts the "high-frequency clarity and contour." It is possible to gently adjust the overall sound from the mid to high frequencies. This allows you to adjust the overall clarity and contour without drastically changing the sound quality. ■ Equipped with a PHASE switch Instruments with a box-shaped resonance chamber, such as ukuleles and guitars, can have their phase (the direction of the sound waves) reversed depending on the position of the pickup. If the phase is reversed, the sound may not come through or may cause feedback, so it is necessary to reverse the phase. Many mixers have this function, but guitar amplifiers rarely do.
