There are scratches on the transmitter from opening the battery compartment. There is no problem with opening and closing with a coin, etc. (Note: See the last image) The pads have been tested for transmission and reception after being wetted. The transmitter requires a CR2032 button battery. I used it for a few months, but then stored it unused for several years. I did not use the app.
