I purchased this approximately 20 years ago from an antique shop in France. Although I bought it in France, it is a very old, metal antique post slot/letterbox from England. It was produced in 1981, and indeed, there is a patent registration stamp on the back. It's a very old and chic letter slot, and it's difficult to obtain even in England. It has a beautiful design, though it's shabby from aging over a long period of time. Those who are renovating, if they are professionals, could probably install it beautifully. It has a great atmosphere as an antique, so it would look wonderful displayed anywhere as is. The condition is as it was when I purchased it. After about 140 years, there is rust as shown in the photo on the back, but it's quite shabby and lovely. It's old, but it can still be put to good use depending on your ideas, and it looks chic when displayed with other antiques. The approximate size is: Approximately 19 x 6.5 cm. There are stains, scratches, rust, and paint loss. Please refrain from purchasing if you are overly concerned about condition.
