I have confirmed that it works, but I haven't connected it to speakers because I don't have any at home. However, I can hear sound from the earphones. I have sold similar items after confirming their functionality before, but there was an instance where no sound came from the speakers. Therefore, since I haven't been able to confirm this, I'm listing it as junk. Fast forward and playback speed functions normally. Also, sound can be heard from both left and right headphones. Upon re-checking, when the pause button is turned on, the tape starts to move, and the spindle spins freely, producing a continuous squealing sound that doesn't stop. It stops when the power is turned off. The switch area in the second and third photos is old and feels a bit rough. Playback, fast forward, and rewind buttons all function.
