It's a handmade teacup by a craftsman who was active in Ehime Prefecture. Along with Niroku Sasaki of Niroku-yaki and Tsunekata Yoshikawa of Suigetsu-yaki, Rakuzan Tamai is said to be one of the three most popular artists. The teacup features a very detailed crab, even down to the hairs, and it looks like it could start moving at any moment. There are two crabs, making it a luxurious and tasteful decorative item. However, it is very old, so please consider it with an understanding of age-related deterioration such as small scratches and stains. Even if there are scratches or chips, they are difficult to notice in this type of work, so please consider it after checking the photos. The wooden box only says "teacup," so the size is perfect, but it may have been made to match. I was told to cherish it, but I am listing it because I want to pass it on to someone who will treasure it. Please refrain from significant price reductions.
