I handcrafted a tote bag from a navy Nagoya obi, using a patchwork of the embroidered flower sections and the plain sections. Since it's made entirely from the obi, it's sturdier than usual, but still very lightweight. The navy obi fabric with its elegant burgundy and gold embroidery creates a striking accent, resulting in a bag with a sophisticated, mature atmosphere. A stiff interfacing is used for the outer fabric. The lining is made from white Yuki-tsumugi fabric.
