This is a set of five Yamanaka lacquerware bowls with gold leaf lids. At first glance, they look like ordinary bowls, but when you open the lid, you'll find a beautiful display of seasonal flowers painted with maki-e (sprinkled picture) on gold leaf that covers the inside of the lid.
