The action bends from around the stripping guide, a medium to medium-slow action with plenty of torque. Currently, #4 line is recommended. This rod is from the heyday of DAIWA's focus on quality, and the 5-piece design offers an action not found in 2- or 3-piece rods. The cork grip shows some filler, and there are some scratches and minor blemishes on the blank, but there are no issues that would lead to breakage, so it's still in good working order.
