These are tall geta (wooden clogs). About 50 years ago, there was a small factory nearby that specialized in making geta for a long time. The geta, made using local wood, were comfortable to wear and were loved not only by local residents but also by people from within and outside the prefecture. You can tell they are unused because the teeth show no wear. The upper part of these tall geta is made of paulownia wood. Due to the special nature of tall geta, the teeth seem to be made of a different material that is water-resistant and elastic.
