It's a large reverse roasted flame maple neck with a round edge/ball edge fret specification. As you can see in the photos, the fret edges are rounded, so you won't catch on the frets, making it easier to play. This is not the type where the frets are rounded after being hammered in, but rather the type where round edge frets are hammered in. I've looked at Fender, Fender Mexico, Mighty Mite, Chinese, etc., and this is a pretty good quality. The flames are very cool. They shimmer depending on the angle and how the light hits them. (I've tried to photograph it to show the tiger stripes as clearly as possible, but please understand that it is greatly affected by the angle and light.)
