Silk is excellent for moisture absorption, release, quick drying, and heat retention, keeping you cool in the summer and warm in the winter. It is also said to have benefits for beautiful skin and UV protection. I am using silk kimonos. To determine if it is silk, I consider the fabric's texture, whether it is hand-sewn, and perform a burn test as a standard. I consider fading and discoloration to be part of the charm of vintage items.
