Feels like cotton. Areas of concern: Fading due to discoloration is noticeable around the cuffs and shoulders. Significant discoloration is visible on the body lining fabric. Condition: Beautiful condition The material is pure silk, as I was told when I received it from a relative. I have had it confirmed by family members who are knowledgeable about kimonos, but as I am an amateur, I cannot make a 100% definitive judgment. I apologize if this is incorrect. In addition to the above, there are scuffs and peeling on both sides. As this is fabric from the era of hand-painted designs, there are several instances of color bleeding and rubbing as shown in the photos. The largest areas of color bleeding and damage are shown in the photos. There may be small stains, scratches, or dirt not described or shown in the photos, in addition to the above. It is impossible to confirm and describe 100% of the minor imperfections of antique fabric. Please assume there is an old smell, typically from camphor or storage in a chest. I have not specifically mentioned smells that are only noticeable when you bring your face close. I believe it is still in beautiful condition and can be worn, but perceptions may vary. This is a used item that has passed through human hands over many years. I ask that only those who understand and accept antique and recycled items purchase it. Also, please only purchase if you understand that this item has been stored in a private home. The sizes are amateur measurements, so please allow for slight errors. I have been fascinated by antique kimonos and have collected them for many years, but most have never been worn, or only worn once or twice.
