The wooden masu (measuring box) is very light. The type of wood is unknown. The ceramic container inside has a design that allows it to be used on its own. There are black spots on the bottom of the ceramic, which appear to be under the ceramic glaze. The corner of the masu appears to be slightly chipped, but it seems to be part of the original design due to the coating.
