This item has been stored long-term at my parents' home. It's a hotaru-yaki (glow-ware) piece with a design similar to those from Jingdezhen, China, but it has no markings. As shown in the last image, there is a black dot on the back of one of the renge spoons. I believe it was likely there from the beginning. Hotaru-yaki is a technique where small holes are carved into the ceramic body, and then filled with a transparent glaze before firing. When held up to the light, the pattern appears to glow like fireflies. Size: Length: Approximately 13.5 cm It will be wrapped in bubble wrap and sent via Yu-Packet Post.
