This is a tsuzure obi (woven silk belt). I imagine that my mother or aunt preferred silver over gold. The paulownia box is warped in places, and some nails are protruding, so I will not be including the box. Please see the images for the front and back of the box. I don't practice any traditional Japanese arts, and I couldn't think of any occasions to wear it, but I felt it would be a shame to leave the obi as it was, so I had it tailored. It was just tailored, but the item is vintage. The thread that joins the front and back was weak, so it has been re-stitched before tailoring, so you can wear it with confidence.
