This is an unnamed black practice chawan (tea bowl). I've forgotten whether the description at the time of purchase was Kuro-Oribe or Seto-guro. As it's a kuta-gata (shoe-shaped) bowl, I suspect it's Oribe. I liked the form and kept it. I love black, and I'm interested in Kuro-raku, Seto-guro, Kuro-Oribe, hiki-dashi-guro, and other black wares. The green of the tea really stands out against black. This is perfect as a practice bowl when drinking tea from a distorted kuta-gata bowl. Measurements by an amateur: height approximately 70mm, mouth diameter approximately 120-140mm, weight approximately 424g. These are also noted in the images. It's a generous size, good for practice before the real thing. Please consider the scenery and the lip of the bowl. The fukusa (tea cloth) in the image (handmade, 15cm x 16cm cotton) will be included. Thank you for your consideration.
