“HITOKIRI, LE CHÂTIMENT” - The French version of Hideo Gosha's film "Hitokiri." This two-disc DVD set includes the main feature, plus a bonus DVD featuring documentaries and interviews not included on the Japanese Blu-ray release, a gallery of photos, and filmographies. "Hideo Gosha jidai geki style" (52 minutes) is a documentary exploring Gosha's filmmaking style, featuring interviews with Gosha himself, director Masahiro Shinoda, cinematographer Fujio Morita, and many others. "Entretiens avec I'équipe du film" (26 minutes) is a collection of behind-the-scenes stories from the filming of "Hitokiri," also featuring interviews with numerous people involved in the production. The narration is in French, with no Japanese subtitles. Interviews with Japanese individuals have French subtitles. Since most of the interviews are with Japanese people, it should be quite enjoyable. The main feature has Japanese audio with French subtitles. This is the French version, so it is a PAL format DVD. Please use a region-free DVD player or a computer to watch it. The item has been stored after only one viewing after purchase. There are some minor scratches, but there are no problems with playback, and the disc condition is generally good.
