This is a paper clutch bag from "MATATABI," a miscellaneous goods brand by "TALKING ABOUT THE ABSTRACTION" (TATA), a fashion brand from Osaka. This is a double-zipper type from the relatively early 14SS collection. The "New York City" message hand-written with a marker on the product is designed to resemble a cardboard placard held by a hitchhiker heading to NY. The inside features a map pattern, showcasing TATA's long-standing transfer print technology. The body is made by attaching paper to cotton canvas, preventing shape distortion while allowing the surface to peel off and age with use. It has been used sparingly and is in good condition, but I personally didn't like the map pattern, so I've painted over it with white spray paint.
