Although it's new, I've test-played it. It stands on its own, so you don't need to clamp it to the bass drum. It utilizes the tension of the rubber, so it conforms well to your foot, and the return after stepping is fast. I can't convey the feel, so I'd really like you to try it, but I think even those accustomed to the feel of springs will be able to use it just fine. The board is made of wood, which is lighter than iron, but the volume is good. You can adjust the tension with the number, turns, and length of hair ties or rubber bands, allowing for subtle adjustments to your liking. The default setting is my recommendation. The beater angle cannot be changed like on a SPEEDKING. (It can be easily changed by removing and reattaching the screws.) Everything is handmade, so there may be some individual differences, but I've test-played it before listing it, so the performance has been confirmed. I've uploaded a play-along video to YouTube.
