Offered here is a beautiful antique, a "Tame-nuri" (puddle-lacquer) "Shuko Natsume" (tea caddy). This is a Shuko Natsume tea caddy with a very beautiful Tame-nuri wood grain. The original box is missing, so details are unknown, but judging from the transparency of the lacquer, it is likely quite old. It appears to have been carefully preserved for many years and is in good condition with no particularly noticeable damage.
