Thank you for viewing from among many items. This is a vintage, unused black single-layer haori (Japanese jacket). It has been stored for a long time but is unused and has no flaws. It has one family crest with a silver thread "kudari fuji" (wisteria) design. The sleeves and collar still have their basting stitches. The haori string is not included. The fabric is a thin crepe de soie (silk) with a sheer, all-over pattern of bellflowers and flowing water. Because of the sheer design, the color and pattern of the kimono worn underneath will show through. This haori may be more suitable for early summer or early autumn, rather than mid-summer. This is a valuable material, neither ro (silk gauze) nor sha (silk gauze). Also, the hem allowance is 11cm, so the length could likely be extended by about 6cm. *This can be easily extended by someone who can do Japanese tailoring.
