This is the Koshu masterpiece "Amehatasuzuri" (Amehata Inkstone). The box label reads: "Koshu Meiseki / High-Grade Amehata Inkstone / Made with care by Hissen-do Honpo, Kajikazawa Town" This is an authentic calligraphy inkstone made from inkstone from Amehata, Yamanashi Prefecture. Amehata inkstones are highly regarded among domestic inkstones, known for their fine particles and ease of grinding ink. It is in a condition that can be used perfectly as a practical item. There are minor scratches due to aging, but no significant chips or cracks are visible. It comes with its original box and is also recommended for collection. As well as for calligraphy, it is a piece with a strong presence as a desk object.
