It was originally a bag-like outer skin called a "barlisht" used to store household items, which has been repurposed into a rug. The design, with its characteristic Baluch dark color scheme and eye-catching brown and white accents, is a manageable size, perfect for use as a doormat or in front of a chest of drawers. The pile has a moderate length and a dense thickness, making it an easy-to-use accent rug. Although it is a 45-year-old vintage rug, it doesn't show much wear and tear, likely because it was originally a bag. It is in mint condition with no noticeable stains or damage, and no repairs. The navy color gives it a beautiful sheen, making it a very attractive tribal piece. Also, occasionally, there may be nail marks from drying after cleaning, but they will blend in with use. Finally, regarding the rug itself, there is a characteristic wool smell. Measurements are taken in the center, but please understand that there may be errors due to the distortion inherent in hand-woven rugs, shrinkage due to water cleaning, and color unevenness due to aging from plant-based dyes. These are also part of the charm of vintage rugs.
