I pre-ordered this at the Apple Store upon its release last year and received it in October. I've always used it with a case and a glass film. There have been no drops, and based on my amateur inspection, there are no major scratches or issues. I think it's a clean device. The maximum battery capacity is 97%, and I haven't used it excessively. However, this is a used item, so please be aware of that if you are particularly sensitive to such things. Thank you.
