This GIVI case locks simply by closing the lid in its original state. However, to open it, you need to insert the key, unlock it, and then press the button on top. This is quite a hassle. You need to insert the key to open the box lid, and you can't remove the key unless you put the lid in the locked position. A point of caution with the original state is that if you accidentally put the key inside the box in the locked state and close the lid, it will automatically lock, and you'll lock yourself out. Therefore, I've modified it so that the key can be removed even in the unlocked state. Normally, it's fine to leave it unlocked and then lock it when you leave your bike. It's recommended for those who open and close it frequently or find it troublesome to use the key. Of course, you can still lock it as usual and remove the key. In short, the key can be removed regardless of the lock or unlock position (this is not possible with the standard GIVI).
