The gourd is considered auspicious, and Hideyoshi also favored this design— This is a tasteful, hand-painted line using elegant three colors = Mugiwara-de (wheat straw) style, a tasteful appetizer dish. The kiln's mark is written on the back. I fell in love with it at first sight when I found it at a Kyoto pottery shop, but it was expensive, so after much deliberation, I took the plunge and bought it. This is one of the items from when I was collecting gourd-shaped items. I displayed it in a glass shelf. I have not actually used it.
