This is a vermilion-lacquered kneading bowl. It's a modern-looking bowl with black brushstrokes. I bought it at a tableware show, but I've kept it stored away unused because I felt it was too precious. It would be great for flour-based dishes, of course, and I think it would also be useful for serving salads or fruit platters for a large group.
