This is a discontinued Snoopy design. It's a safety guard to prevent accidents involving babies, children, and pets by locking the screen door. It's easy to lock and unlock. It's also reassuring to have locked during times when you want to ventilate with just the screen door, such as in spring and autumn. I used the same product. It was truly reassuring if you have a baby in a condo who is starting to imitate opening and closing windows and balconies. I was able to use it safely until I moved.
