The maker's works are mostly ken-nata (sword-like hatchets), and this hatchet is rare. It's a one-of-a-kind hatchet made with a "clothing-hanging" style, where the steel is attached to one side and then the base metal is forge-welded again. The blade is sharpened approximately 7:3, achieving both sharpness and robustness. The steel is water-quenched V2 steel made by Takefu Special Steel. The handle is made of oak.
