Rai Sanyo January 21, 1781 – October 16, 1832 A historian, thinker, Chinese poet, and man of letters in the late Edo period. Born in Osaka and raised in Hiroshima. His given name was Noboru, his azana was Shisei. He used the pen names Sanyo and Sanjurokuhogai-shi.
