The jam coloring on the underside of the lids cannot be removed. In our home, we use them for storing flour, breadcrumbs, toothpicks, etc. The empty jars for sale have been washed, wiped with disinfectant wipes, and stored. They have never been reused. Please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to items stored at home.
