Height: 16 cm This is a San-nai Chigo doll or Hatsumairi Ningyo (first visit doll) that no longer has the chigo mage (child's hairstyle). This doll is given by the Emperor to a prince or princess when they first visit the Imperial Palace from their mother's family's nursery. The doll wears a furisode (long-sleeved kimono) of crimson crepe embroidered with bamboo fences and chrysanthemums, and hakama (pleated skirt) of white long silk with black chrysanthemum ties, and holds a chukei (folding fan).
