Please refrain from price negotiations. 【Katsuji Suzuki (Suzuki Katsuji)】 Real name: Katsuji Suzuki. Born in 1949 in Imbe, Bizen City, as the second son of Koya Suzuki. From 1963, he studied all aspects of pottery under Tozan Miyanaga, a Kiyomizu-yaki artist in Kyoto, and from 1966, he honed his skills under his father. He became independent in 1972 with his first kiln. In 1979, he built the Ryuo Kiln in Ouchi, Bizen City. He was selected for the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Exhibition with his first kiln, and in 1981, he received the Director-General's Award of the Japan Traditional Art Crafts Branch Exhibition, and in 1982, he received the Minister of Foreign Affairs Award at the Chunichi International Ceramic Art Exhibition. He held solo exhibitions in Tokyo. 〈Style〉 He often makes flower vases, vessels, and tableware using hand-building and the potter's wheel. Recently, he also produces bonsai pots. He uses coarse mountain soil and also works with the slab-building technique. His kiln is a climbing kiln, and he pursues the texture of the clay and firing.
