Living under the scorching sun and harmful strong ultraviolet rays, we have to come up with various strategies to survive. A fan is no longer just for creating a gentle breeze; when commuting, walking above ground during transfers, or doing fieldwork where we are exposed to strong ultraviolet rays without a car, we want to at least hold up a fan to shield our exposed faces from the sun. For reference, the length of the paper part that creates the shadow is different compared to women's fans, as shown in photo 8 (the one on the right is for women). In this day and age, if women were to buy one, it would be the "men's" style! That's the kind of era we're living in. After hats and parasols, fans have become the next line of defense.
