I bought these early for Shichi-Go-San (the traditional Japanese festival for children aged three, five, and seven) or elementary school entrance ceremonies, but my child's feet grew too big, so they've been kept at home, unworn. They have elastic instead of laces, so they're easy to put on and take off. They're simple, so they would fit a smaller 7-year-old for Shichi-Go-San, or a 6-year-old for their entrance ceremony. For a 5-year-old, some children wear 18cm shoes, so they could be suitable for Shichi-Go-San. I think they're very practical. By the way, my third son has big feet and wears 18cm shoes at just over 5 years old, so none of my three children were able to wear them, hence they are new and unused. (((^^;)
